For my vest, I followed Lisa Fett's instructions at http://www.azeem2000.com/bobafett/flakvest.shtml, with one or two changes. Instead of using the pattern she recommends (which I believe is out of print), I used Simplicity 9806, the same cheerleader pattern I used for the shirt. Instead of using velcro as the fastener, I put in a 12" seperating zipper. The vest (at Barbie Fett-length) is too short for the zipper called for; only about two inches at the bottom would not have been zipper. The seperating zipper is a little more secure than velcro, and I'm sure of the vest being closed all the way up.
I didn't take any pictures of the construction process, since Lisa Fett has plenty in her tutorial of what it looks like while being assembled.
