For All-Con 2005, some friends and I put on a shadowcast version of Moulin Rouge. Because we had less than a dozen people, Narelle and I traded off on who played Satine. She made a dramatic entrance as a giant pink feather duster (aka Pink Diamonds), so I got to have a dramatic ending in the death scene that lasted forever. And yet another duet with Brian.
This dress was literally created overnight. After getting some set pieces assembled at the hotel, Narelle & I pulled an all-nighter working on costumes. She focused on the Hindi slave girls, while I worked on this and then, in the early am, started the Sitar Player's jacket. (Which got finished in the Hotel Room Sweatshop.)
