| Since it's practically impossible to find a long, narrow, knit scarf in stores at the end of March—bathings suits are already out in full force—I decided to knit the scarf myself. I needed to learn how to knit to make my Hermione scarf, anyway, so this seemed like a good first project, rather simple, just your basic knit stitch over and over again.
I used Red Heart Super Saver yarn in Deep Plum, which looks really nice against the burgundy of the overshirt. The first row was cast on size 10 needles, and the rest were done with size 9. Initially the width was just ten stitches, but somewhere by the thirtieth row I gained two for a total of twelve. It's not a big deal; in fact, I think I like this width better. The final dimensions of the scarf are approximately 2" inches by 66" inches, and took only eleven days to knit, working on it when I could.
